In this case the Union had called for a strike to protest the planned take over Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by Kenya Airways (KQ) PLC which the Union feared would occasion job losses and the planned strike related to withdrawal of services ranging from Cabin Crew Services, Security, Airtraffic Control Aircraft Maintenance, Customer Care, Fire and Rescue, Ground Flight Services, Engineering, Finance, Transport Equipment Operation, Loading and Cabin Grooming services among others. The planned strike was intended to paralyze the entire aviation sector in the Country.
