Pamela Tutui

|
Pamela Tutui graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from the University of
Nairobi in 1982 and was admitted to the Roll of Advocates in 1983. She has since
served and practiced law in both public and private sectors. Highlights in her long
career include:
- State Attorney in charge of public prosecutions, civil litigation and asset
recovery; public contracts, treaties and conventions.
- Legal officer/corporation secretary in public and private corporations.
- Practising attorney in private sector with wide experience gained over the
years as an associate, sole practitioner; and in partnerships.
- Commissioner of Assize ( A Judge of the High Court engaged on a temporary
basis) presiding over all types of cases in criminal, civil law, admiralty, probate
and administration as well as performing administrative duties as a Judge of
the High Court of Kenya.
- A member of the Rules Committee charged with reviewing Practice Rules. The
Rules Committee is established by the Judiciary and comprises,
- The Chief Justice who may appoint a Judge of Appeal to represent him.
- 2 Judges of Appeal.
- 2 Judges of the High Court.
- The Attorney General or his appointed representative.
- 2 Senior Members of the Bar Appointed by Law Society.
- A member of the Committee of Expeditious Disposal of Cases; which is a
permanent Committee of the Kenya Judiciary mandated to rejuvenate jumpstart
and sustain the practice of case management for speedy delivery of
Justice by tackling problems causing backlog and delay, and recommending
appropriate remedial measures.
- Is as a Commissioner for Oaths, a Notary Public and member of the Chartered
Institute of Arbitrators of London; and has served in various Law Society of
Kenya assignments inter-alia as Chairperson of the Mombasa Chapter and
currently council member of the East African Law Society.
Born in 1958, Pamela was immediately before the merger a partner in the Firm of Tutui,
Adogo Advocates. She is the Managing Partner and Head of Conveyance, Corporate
Law; Treaties and Agreements Division. |
